Taskar Center for Accessible Technology

The Taskar Center for Accessible Technology (TCAT), housed by the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science at the University of Washington, develops, translates, and deploys open source, universally accessible technologies, with a focus on benefiting populations with motor limitations or speech impairment. TCAT engages University of Washington students, faculty, and an engaged community in the creation of a sustainable social enterprise for the development, deployment, and support of accessible technologies.

The Washington State Transportation Center (TRAC) is a cooperative, interdisciplinary transportation research agency. Its members—Washington State University, the University of Washington, and the Washington State Department of Transportation—formed TRAC in 1983 to coordinate transportation research efforts—both state and commercial, public and private—and to develop research opportunities both nationally and locally. TRAC acts as a link among government agencies, university researchers, and the private sector.

Studio Pacifica is an architectural consulting firm specializing in accessibility consulting and design review. Its specialized consulting practice is driven by a belief in universal design—a way of thinking about design that translates into built environments that enhance quality of life for people of all abilities. The company’s mission is to improve transit and transportation mobility options through improving equity of routing and transit service data, incorporating customized pedestrian routing, on-demand transit options, and improved accessible user interfaces.
